Economic Stimulus Check

I just received my economic stimulus check. I'm so excited! I already know how I'm going to spend it. Gas! Uncle Sam shall giveth and Exxon Mobil taketh away. Interesting how that works.

Air Force One

President Bush came to the Valley of the Sun today for Presidential Candidate Sen. John McCain. Bush attend McCain's campaign fund raising party in Paradise Valley.
As I was walking back to the office from lunch; there it was "Air Force One" arriving in the Valley. How surreal! If you are wondering if I have a frame without the light pole? I do, but you are not going to see it. Cheers

Chris Page Dead at 29

Today was a ruff day at the East Valley Tribune. In my outlook mailbox was the all-edit e-mail to the editorial staff. Former Arts and Entertainment writer Chris Page was found dead in his apartment late Sunday. Page was 29 years old. It's was apparently a suicide.

My God, I have been through this before with a very close friend. It is something that a rational person cannot explain or justify. For suicide to be a better choice than life, a person must be in a very dark place. We all have had our ups and downs and possible bouts with depression. But there is alway tomorrow and there always hope for those who seek it. Chris was laid off from the Tribune 2 weeks ago. God speed bro!

Writer Commits Suicide

I just found out that one of our feature writers who was laid off 2 weeks ago committed suicide. This is very sad news with out a doubt. He was a young man that had a lifetime in front of him. From what I observed he seemed like a happy fellow with a great sense of humor and a bright future. Whatever his demon was, I hope he is in a better place. Peace
